In addition, our doctors remain current in the most recent advances in anesthesia and surgery through constant continuing education. Every animal under anesthetic is monitored using respiratory monitors, pulse oximetry (blood oxygen monitors), and EKG monitors. Computerized anesthetic equipment assists in the monitoring and regulation of the anesthetized patient. An in-house laboratory allows us to evaluate the patient the same day prior to surgery. Every surgical case is approached as a major procedure, from the more common spay to the critical exploratory surgery. Pain management is a major component of the case of our surgical patients. A comfortable patient has been shown to recover and heal more quickly.
