Lexington Blvd. Animal Hospital has a complete in-house laboratory available. We routinely perform heartworm checks, fecal analyses, blood counts, chemistry profiles, urinalyses, cytologies (aspirations of cells from tumor masses with a needle biopsy), and blood gases. In addition, Dr. Seamans is a certified medical technologist. With her background and training, our hospital is also able to evaluate bone marrow samples, spinal fluid taps, and more advanced fluid analyses. Since most samples do not need to be sent to an outside lab to be performed or interpreted, critical patients can be evaluated immediately. If your animal has surgery, pre-surgical blood work can be performed on the same day, eliminating an extra trip to the hospital.
